I recently visited the University of Washington. Here are a few takeaways from my experience:
I toured the University of Washington’s flagship campus in Seattle, affectionately known as “U-Dub”. The campus is four miles from Seattle’s city center and offers easy access to downtown.
Our tour guide touted the perfect mix of urban and suburban experiences at UW. The campus feels homey and nurturing, with access to everything the city has to offer (concerts, restaurants, sports, etc.) a short train ride away.
I went to Seattle, and it didn’t rain! Actually, this was an issue addressed many times throughout our tour. Everyone kept insisting that Seattle doesn’t rain that much. The tour brochure states that many well-loved cities, such as Houston, Miami, and New York, actually receive more rain than Seattle.
Admission to UW favors Washington residents, as seen in enrollment numbers: 74% Washington residents, 16% US (non-Washington residents), and 10% international students.
Go Huskies!
